We animated fun marketing and educational videos for Otava’s mathematics textbooks.
Objective
Otava school books are a familiar sight to all current and former pupils. The newest books in the series are the Oivaltaja mathematics textbooks. Oivaltaja does not offer learning only on the book pages but also in the form of digital teaching materials. The tasks included creating both the marketing videos and digital teaching materials.
Implementation
In both projects, we utilised illustrations and characters from the textbooks. We built lively 3D animations of Hoksnokka and Pii characters in both the marketing material and to give the education videos a boost. In addition, we built an animated presentation of the textbook pages for a marketing video.
An efficient process was particularly important in compiling the vast digital teaching material. Oivaltaja books have been made for four grade levels and nearly 50 animations were created for each book.
