The premise

The city of Tampere once again hosted the The Finnish Broadcasting Company’s Contest for New Music, the national Eurovision selections event at Nokia Arena. Tampere wanted to be involved in cheering on Linda Lampenius and Pete Parkkonen at the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna. At the same time, they aimed to promote Tampere as a travel destination and the sauna capital of the world, both domestically and internationally.

The solution

The idea was to create a lip sync video in which Tampere performers and familiar UMK stars interpret the song, each in their own style.

Karu Films took on the challenge with a tight two-week schedule and an agile team. Still, the cinematic style was not compromised. We moved from the packed Nokia Arena to Särkänniemi amusement park and to Pispala ridge – and of course to a sauna. Among others, ESC veterans Windos95man and Hanna Pakarinen, as well as the mayor Ilmari Nurminen, threw themselves into the magic.
