In autumn 2025, Tampere hosted the EuroBasket tournament as one of the European host cities. Karu designed, directed, and produced an impressive marketing video and photo campaign to maximize the reputation benefits of the event and strengthen the city’s international visibility.
Urban and Nature-Close Tampere

The goal was to showcase two different sides of Tampere through the video material: the urban Nokia Arena and its architecture on one hand, and on the other the shores of Lake Näsijärvi and the relaxed lifestyle of the city in summer. All of this was presented with a fast, street-style vibe suitable for basketball.

Marketing to Europe

The final result was marketed in selected European cities, so it was important that the visuals had an international look.

This was achieved through representative locations, interesting casting, and trendy wardrobe choices. The scenes were filmed using natural light, which meant that a sunny summer day played a major role in the visual style—shooting schedules were literally planned according to the position of the sun. Additional visual spice was added with body-mounted and basketball camera rigs, as well as a few slow-motion shots.

With these ingredients: welcome to Tampere!
